Presenter: Jeff Cox 

Jeff was born and raised in Memphis and graduated from the University of Memphis in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Management of Information Systems.  He currently works for ServiceU Corporation, on a product titled EventU Green, which is an HVAC automation system that aims to mitigate utility costs in schools and churches by consuming less energy.  Last year he released an open source application for Windows called LaunchLater that has garnered roughly 5,000 downloads.  He is also teacher of Object Oriented Programming with C++ at Southwest TN Community College.  When not working with code, he's either playing vast quantities of video games both new and old, or exploring Shelby Farms with his wife and three dogs.

LaunchMemphis and Purple Ant proudly present “Intro to #memtech,” a monthly meeting of technologists and entrepreneurs that explores established and emerging platforms. If you’ve ever wondered “How do I get started using Ruby on Rails?” or any other technology, then “Intro to #memtech” is for you!

New technologies can be a daunting task, Where do you start? What are the essentials you need to know? What gimmicks does a particular platform have? What is the implementation process?  “Intro to #memtech” will answer these questions and more, by offering attendees a 1-hour crash course on a different topic every month.

Led by local programming all-stars, these presentations will be recorded, live streamed, and later made public.
